Admissions
We understand that choosing a preschool can feel overwhelming, and we strive to make the process as smooth as possible. Due to high demand, we encourage parents to apply up to two years in advance of their desired start date. Please note that we only accept new students in the Fall for our full-year program.
Step 1: Schedule a Tour
We offer individual tours at 9:30 AM for morning spots and 1:30 PM for afternoon spots. Tours must be scheduled in advance by calling our office at (650) 342-0447, as availability is limited and fills up quickly.
Step 2: Submit an Application and Fee
After attending a tour, you will receive an application form. To apply, submit the completed form along with a non-refundable $50 application fee. Applications are accepted year-round, but enrollment decisions for the upcoming school year begin in October of the prior year.
Step 3: Stay in Touch
If you’ve applied for a future year, we ask that you check in periodically to confirm your continued interest in securing a spot.
Step 4: Acceptance and Enrollment
If space is available and you decide that Tulane Montessori is the right fit for your child, you will receive an acceptance letter and enrollment forms in January prior to your desired Fall start date.
We look forward to welcoming your family into our community.
Tuition
Tuition can be paid on a monthly basis or per semester, offering flexibility to accommodate different needs. We offer options for both half-day and full-day students. Please note that our program is five days per week. Contact us for more details regarding payment plans and enrollment.
FAQs

The Montessori method, developed by Dr. Maria Montessori, is an educational approach based on the idea that children learn best through active engagement with their environment. Unlike traditional passive learning, Montessori fosters hands-on exploration and encourages physical, social, emotional, and cognitive growth. This child-centered philosophy has been embraced worldwide for over a century.

Consistency is essential in early childhood education, and a five-day program provides the stability young children need to thrive. Montessori emphasizes routine, order, and independence, which are best cultivated through daily engagement in the classroom.
-
Montessori classrooms include a two- to three-year age span, allowing younger students to learn from older peers while giving older students the opportunity to reinforce their knowledge by mentoring younger classmates. This structure fosters collaboration, confidence, and individualized learning at each child’s own pace.
-
The third year is a pivotal time when everything a child has been working on comes together. Having spent two years building foundational skills, children step into leadership roles, gain confidence, and experience emotional and intellectual growth. This culminating year solidifies their Montessori experience, preparing them for future success.

Practical Life activities help children develop concentration, coordination, independence, and a sense of order. These tasks—such as pouring, buttoning, and cleaning—not only build fine motor skills but also foster self-confidence and socialization. The Practical Life area evolves with seasonal themes to keep children engaged, making learning both relevant and enjoyable.
By mastering these life skills, children gain independence and a strong sense of accomplishment, setting a foundation for lifelong learning.
